World High Technology Society sent the first delegation in biosciences under Prof. Zhiqiang Huang's leadership to attend the upcoming forum devoted to the issues in developing Chinese biotech industry in the 21st century. The forum was held by Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing from May 12 to 13, 2000.
The main theme of Zhong Guan Cun Conference Series is to promote high tech development in China. The series is jointly high tech industrial practitioner and governmental officials. The Series has already held several successful sessions and has been well received by the attendees.
This upcoming forum is proposed by the Administrative Committee of Zhongguan Cun Science and Technology Park, Weiming Biotech Group of Peking University. The forum has invited internationally renowed speakers and distiguished domestic experts to present their views on the trends and developments of biotech in the 21st century. Over 20 overseas Chinese guests working in major pharmaceutical/Biotech companis in US attended the meeting and presented their work. This forum provided a good opportunity for a great gathering for those who involve in biological scientific research and biotech industry in China. WHTS members presented their research progress, recent trend and strategies in developing biotech for a developing country. Many suggestions have been proposed for both public and private sectors in China.
Through this forum, WHTS' presentation and discussion have generated some very positive impact on the entire biotech sector in China. Many inivitations have been extended to WHTS members to present their views on the innovation, interdisplinary,sustainable development confrences. All travel expenses were covered by the organizing committee.
