The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad is the visionary behind this initiative.In line with this, Deputy Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi chairs the ministerial Biodiversity and Biotechnology Co-ordinating Council to oversee BioValley Malaysia's progress. The Council compreses ministers of science, technology and the environment; agriculture; health; international trade and industry; domestic trade and consumer affairs; primary industries; energy, communication and multimedia; and education.
